3 The Prehistory Museum of the Gorges on a rainy day
Located in Quinson, the prehistory museum offers an immersion in the prehistoric Verdon. The museum, its temporary exhibition, the prehistoric village and finally the visit of the Baume Bonne are worth the detour. The curator has made many efforts to make the visit attractive and fun. Many attractions and small games await children from 6 years old. This prehistory museum is one of the largest in Europe and its visit is ideal to make the most of your rainy day.
4 The woodturning museum in Aiguines
This small museum is worth the detour for several reasons. The extraordinary history of the boxwood pickers is astonishing. 100 years ago, the game of “boules” developed considerably and the balls were made of studded boxwood. Years ago, the last large boxwoods were cut down. The suitable boxwood left was inaccessible. Thus a profession developed: the boxwood pickers climbed down the cliffs to pick the boxwood for the manufacture of the studded balls. The paths they used and the workshops in the cliffs were very impressive. You can find these workshops in the museum as well as the stages of manufacture of the studded balls. 5 Rainy day at the Maison des gorges de La Palud Sur Verdon
