Canyoning or water hiking? What’s the difference?
Canyoning consists of going down a river with alternating jumps, slides, abseiling and swimming. Equipped with a neoprene wetsuit, helmet, harness and sport shoes, you follow your guide.
The aquatic hike (or floating): Your equipment will be the same as for canyoning but the water trekking does not require a harness. There is also no abseiling and this activity is much more aquatic than canyoning.
At what age can you start canyoning? Rafting? Water hiking?
To find out more see our detailed articles below:
These activities can be practiced from the age of 7 accompanied by parents. Some rafting courses and some canyons are reserved for initiation. In all cases it is imperative to know how to swim. Our experienced guides speak several languages and will make you discover activities and a region that they are passionate about. Call us for advice if you have any doubts. We will ask you the weight and height of the participants: this is essential to prepare the neoprene wetsuits.
What happens in case of bad weather or bad conditions to practice the activity?
The guide may decide to cancel or postpone the activity if, for example, the EDF dam has cancelled the planned release of water. These cancellations happen rarely but we are dependent on the water flow. In the same way, violent storms that are not foreseen can cause the guide to cancel the activity for safety reasons.
In case of cancellation by the guide, he will inform you by phone or SMS/text message and you can contact us to fix a new date. If a postponement is not possible, we will credit your credit card with the exact amount that has been debited from you. When we do this, a confirmation e-mail is sent to you and a maximum of 5 days is needed for the transfer to appear on your account.
Company seminars and rafting

These activities take place from April to October inclusive. In Autumn the water flow is often as good as, or even better than in Spring. Do not hesitate to ask us.
