Everything you need to know about electric boats and navigation in the Verdon gorges
A visit to the Verdon is an opportunity for a trip on the water in an electric boat or canoe. You can explore the lower gorges, the Baudinard gorges and of course enter the majestic gorges of the Grand Canyon. Our electric boats can be driven without a licence and have an average speed of 6 km/hour. Depending on the type of boat, you can embark with 6 or 8 people and can take your picnic with you. For tighter budgets or simply for fun, our canoes will allow you to explore the low gorges between the Esparron and Quinson lakes. Finally, with the pedalos and paddle boards, you can explore the creeks of the Sainte-Croix and Esparron lakes.
What you should know about electric boat rental in Verdon Gorges
Electric boats are the only ones allowed on the lakes of Esparron, Sainte-Croix and Quinson. Rentals are by the day, half-day or hour. The meeting points are specified on each reservation tab.
Information about the routes is found in our article about Verdon Lakes discovery.
Where to go pedal boating in the Verdon?
Pedal boating is a perfect activity to explore the lakes of the Verdon at your own pace, whether as a couple, with friends, or as a family.
Verdon Voyages offers pedalo rentals on Lake Esparron and Lake Castillon, both known for their wild coves, turquoise waters, and peaceful atmosphere.
On the other hand, Lake Sainte-Croix offers a different experience: we do not offer pedal boats there, but rather electric boats without a license, ideal for comfortably exploring the Grand Canyon of Verdon in complete freedom.

Guided canoe trips with friends or family, including children
Why not take advantage of a guided canoe trip? Our guided canoe trips will let you meet new people and get to know the Gorges du Verdon. You might be surprised by the local flora and fauna: your guide will take you to lesser-known and often breathtaking spots. To learn more, follow this booking link for guided canoe trips. Another advantage is that our guides speak English. In just two hours, your guide will recommend the best spots for you to explore on your own. These guided tours are now available from May through mid-September for anyone interested in fine dining and looking above all to have a great time! You don’t need to be athletic, and families with children ages 7 and up are welcome.
May I arrive after the scheduled departure time?
Yes, this is possible. For full-day rentals, the standard start time is usually 10:00 AM. However, you may arrive later if you inform the rental provider in advance by SMS or phone call.
This is also possible for shorter rentals, but please note that the total rental duration will not be extended, and the boat must still be returned at the originally scheduled time.
We simply recommend informing the rental provider in advance to ensure smooth organization.
What happens in case of bad weather or bad conditions to practice the activity?
You can postpone or cancel 72 hours before the activity. We may decide to cancel or postpone the activity due to safety concerns. These cancellations rarely occur but we rely on the instructions from the municipality. High winds may cause us to restrict certain routes.
If a postponement is not possible, we will credit your credit card with the exact amount that has been debited from it. When we do this, a confirmation email is sent to you and a maximum of 5 days is needed for the transfer to appear on your account.
